Information from Danetta Powell, Club Safeguarding Manager
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Firstly, I hope you, your children and your wider families are all keeping safe and well during the current lockdown.
Lockdowns and high-level restrictions are in place across the UK due to coronavirus (COVID-19). During this time, it’s especially important that we all pay attention to our mental health and wellbeing and the mental health of children and young people.
Children and young people may feel worried or anxious about different things. Beyond the virus itself there is the interruption of the normal school routine, suddenly spending most of their time indoors and no longer regularly seeing family and friends.
Public Health England (PHE) has released new guidance for parents and carers on how to support the mental health of children and young people during the coronavirus outbreak. If you feel this guidance may be of interest or use to you and your family, you can access it via the link below:
If you feel that you or your child need additional support during the lockdown, please do get in touch with the Club.
You might be struggling with your own mental health, supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing, keeping up with home learning or increased financial pressures. Whatever the issue, please feel comfortable in reaching out to us. We will always look to assist in any way we can or sign post you to other agencies or partners.
