Please see below the allocated days for player and parent reviews within the Foundation Phase (U9-U11) . Each appointment will be a maximum 10 minutes and attendance is not compulsory.

Awards Night

Forms to purchase tickets to the Academy Awards Evening on May 10th will be available to collect after training as of Tuesday 23rd April. Please note that it is an all-ticket event and no purchases will be permitted after 5pm on Tuesday 7th May.

The evening will take place at St John's Hotel, there will be 400 tickets issued for the night and invitations will be given to all academy players via there age group coach.

Pro Deal for Koby

Rising Blues star Koby Arthur has put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old Ghanaian has signed a two-year deal having impressed Blues boss Lee Clark hugely since arriving at the club from non-league Woodford United.

Born in Kumasi, the versatile forward has featured for both Blues’ U18s and U21s sides this season and was handed a first-team squad number back in February.

Academy Day

Please note that the First Team fixture against Millwall on Saturday 6th April will also represent the Academy Day at St. Andrew's Stadium.

Players in age groups 9-14 will all feature on the pitch at half-time and each player will receive 2 tickets in addition to one for their own use. Additional tickets can be purchased at £10 for adults and £5 concessions.

 Please note that the refurbishment of the Parents Room has now been completed and it is equipped with tables and chairs and available for parents to use.

The television will be re-installed shortly and the kitchenette area will also become functional in the near future.

 BOOST FOR BLUES ACADEMY

Birmingham City’s Academy has been recommended for Category Two status under the new Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), a scheme that will radically modernise youth development in England. 

The positive recommendation follows an extensive independent audit of the club’s youth development programme that inspected criteria such as vision and strategy, the coaching programme, quality of facilities and education and welfare processes.

 Blues under-18s put in a thoroughly professional performance to beat Bristol Rovers in their FA Youth Cup fourth round tie on Thursday evening.

The closely-fought contest was won courtesy of second half penalty conversion from striker Reece Hales (pictured).

The victory means that Blues will now travel to Norwich City in the next round of the competition, after the Canaries overcame Millwall 2-1 tonight.

Thursday Training

Please note that training for the Under 14/15/16 age groups on Thursday is off. This is due to the FA Youth Cup fixture which will take place at Solihull Moors FC, 7pm kick-off. Though not compulsory, we would recommend all players in those age groups attend the FA Youth Cup fixture.

Training for U9/10/12/13 age groups remains as per the schedule.

Will Packwood Update

Blues defender Will Packwood today underwent surgery on his badly broken left leg.

The American teenager fractured his tibia and fibula after landing awkwardly in the second-half of yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

The 19-year-old was successfully operated on in Leeds General Infirmary this morning and it's hoped he will be transferred to Spire Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield tomorrow afternoon to begin his recovery.

Birmingham City have been invited to attend the annual Norwich City FC Academy Cup. The festival is for players born after 1st January 2002 and will be held on Saturday 5th January 2013.

Blues convincingly progressed in the FA Youth Cup with an impressive victory over their near-neighbours at Damson Park.

An early Deqwon Ebanks strike and well-taken second-half goals from Charlee Adams and Reece Brown ensured a place in the fourth-round draw to be held on 14 December.
 
Despite seeing West Bromwich Albion battle back to draw level before half-time, Blues outplayed their opponents in all areas of the park and thoroughly deserved to progress further in the competition.
